ASIS Middle East Security Conference and Exhibition to be held in Dubai

Dubai is preparing to host the 6th edition of the Middle East Security Conference & Exhibition, which will be held between February 15th and 17th. Security professionals from around the Middle East are expected to converge in Dubai for the three day event which will showcase the latest developments in the security industry. More than 27 companies (exhibitors) have already confirmed their participation in the event.

The first day of the expo is dedicated to the exhibition. On 16th, there will be several breakout sessions including a keynote address by the Vice President of Safety and Industrial Security at Saudi Aramco, Mohammad G. Al-Zahrani. There will be many other sessions throughout the day on diverse topics such as terrorism and counter-terrorism, new operations, fraud prevention, community engagement, airport screening and many others.

Watch out for the session on jihadists and terrorism (The Rise of the Jihadists- the Second Stage of the Arab Spring) by Tim Williams, MD of Stirling Assynt). There are also two breaks to enable networking and visiting the exhibits.

Keynote panel discussion on regional experiences with adoption of security industry regulations

On 17th, there will be a keynote panel discussion by Major General Khamis Mutar Khamis Al Muzainah of Dubai Police, Dr. Khalid bin Saad Al-Ageel who is with the Ministry of Interior, Saudi Arabia and Prof. Peter D’Arcy, who was formerly with the National Security Institute. The discussion will center on security industry regulations and how their introduction has increased the performance of the industry and how it is expected to affect the customer.

The rest of the day will be taken up by breakout sessions on issues like terrorists sourcing insider information, strategic thinking for risk management, designing of physical protection systems, private security and networking events. The day will end with a keynote address by Prof. Moray McLaren from the IE Business School in Spain, who will be speaking on negotiation.

A treat for exhibitors at the Technology and Solutions Theater

A Technology and Solutions Theater will run alongside the main program. The event is designed for exhibitors, to give them an opportunity to showcase their services, products and expertise to ASIS delegates. Each exhibitor will get 20 minutes to speak about their company and what they do.

The CSO Roundtable Summit is an exclusive paid event for senior security executives from the largest organizations in the world. The organizers are expecting more than 40 senior delegates to attend this event. The topic of discussion will be risk management.

ASIS Dubai is the region’s largest security event and it is going to attract a large number of visitors.
