Fueling Power Generation all Over the World – Power-Gen International comes to Orlando December 9th 2014

Since its inception in 1988, Power-Gen has evolved and grown considerably. It is now the largest power generation conference and exhibition event in the world. This year, Power-Gen will come back to the place of its origin – Orlando. The event will be held in Orlando Florida from December 9th to the 11th at the Orange County Convention Center (West Halls).

The organizers are expecting more than 22000 visitors from 90 countries at the event. It will also feature 200 speakers from the power generation industry. The organizers have packed the event itinerary with more than 50 educational conferences. 1400 companies from the power generation sector will also be participating in the event. Companies from sectors such as electric utilities, fuel suppliers, power plant designers, construction contractors and IT specialists are expected to be a part of the conference. Other top draws at the event will be the networking events, technical tours and online conferences.

Keynote address to be shared between four speakers

The topic for the keynote address is ‘Powering Innovation and Efficiency’. The welcome address will be delivered by Mr. Russel Ray, who is the Managing Editor of Power Engineering Magazine. The keynote address will be divided between four speakers – Mr. David Walsh, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems America, Mr. Mauricio Gutierrez, EVP and CEO of NRG Energy, Ms. Kimberly S. Greene, EVP and CEO of Southern Company and Mr. Eric Silagy, President and CEO of Florida Power and Light Company.

The conferences will cover eight topics including competitive and efficient power generation, virtual power plants, environmental issues and emission control.

Pre-conference workshops will give a glimpse of what is in store for visitors at the event

There will be pre-conference workshops at the event, which will give participants a head start into what they can look forward to in the conferences. The event is called the Competitive Power College and all attendees will get a certificate once they complete the workshop.

Companies which generate power are in for a special treat – the Power Generators Discount Program. Such companies (should generate at least 1 MW of power) can send any number of their employees to Power-Gen International. Do not miss the technical tours

The event organizers have planned a series of technical tours to major power plants in the region. The tour will cover the Cane Island Power Park, the Clean Energy Center at Cape Canaveral, Hines Energy Complex and Wind Service Training Center among others.
