The Godfather of all Semiconductor Exhibitions Semicon Japan 2014 starts on Dec 3 at Tokyo Big Sight
Semicon Japan is the largest exhibition for semiconductor materials and equipment in the world. Started in 1977, it is also one of the oldest exhibitions. Semicon Japan 2014 is a platform for companies to meet new partners and customers from over the world. It is also famous for its technical conferences and seminars.
Semicon Japan 2014 will be held between December 3 and 5 at Tokyo Big Sight, in Tokyo. Entry to the exhibition is free, but those who wish to attend the conference and seminars will have to pay a registration fee.
Segments in Semicon Japan 2014
Semicon Japan 2014 is divided into eight tracks – SuperTheater, World of IoT (Internet of Things), SEMI Technology Symposium, TechStage, Conference Tower Events and Seminars, Partner/Exhibitor Events and Networking Events.
The opening session is on the topic ‘women in business’. It will be chaired by Mary G. Puma – CEO and Chairman of Axcellis. Other eminent speakers at the event include Chieko Asakawa from IBM (she will talk about smart machines and cognitive assistance), Miwako Doi, auditor at NIICT and Makiko Eda, from Intel. The session will end with a panel discussion.
The keynote session, guided by four speakers will discuss how the future will be shaped by the Internet of Things. The IT Forum, under the topic ‘Innovation: No limits’ will discuss the effect of technological advances on innovation and how they are influencing electronics.
All three events – the opening session, the keynote address and the IT forum will be a part of the SuperTheater segment. The SEMI Technology Symposium is a technical forum, which will focus on Big Data/IoT, power devices, manufacturing design andlithography.
World of IoT- A new feature at Semicon Japan 2014
The World of IoT (Internet of Things) is a new offering at Semicon Japan 2014. The organizers are calling it a ‘show-within-a-show’, which indicates the importance of the event. The session will cover the entire IoT supply chain from system to silicon.
The IoT segment also has a presentation stage called TechSPOT. In TechSPOT, exhibitors will share some exclusive information related to the field.
